Boulevard Rain Garden Inspection Training

There are over 200 boulevard rain gardens in Capitol Region Watershed District, and we’d love your help to inspect them. Your inspection information will be shared with the rain garden grantees to help them care for their gardens. Join CRWD staff to review the basics of rain garden design and learn our scoring and mobile inspection process.
Inspections are entered through a mobile app. Volunteers are expected to upload the app on their mobile device and log in prior to this event. This information will be shared with all who RSVP here. At the training, staff will walk through a short presentation on rain gardens and basics for using the app and scoring. Staff will have project area packets for 18 different clusters of rain gardens. Volunteers will create teams including a Water Steward and Master Gardener. Your team will select a project area to inspect and share contact information to coordinate when you’d like to conduct your inspections together. The deadline to complete inspections is Friday, June 16. Staff will review the results and mail inspection postcards to the homeowners. All gardens are accessible/visible by sidewalk or street. Homeowners will have been notified that inspections are happening via a postcard.
