Exploring Rain Garden Plants and Common Weeds
Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us to learn some tips for helping care for rain gardens. Ramsey County Master Gardener co-presenters Tiffa Foster and Simba Blood will explore varieties of plants suited for rain gardens and discuss tips for identifying and managing weeds. Attendees will learn more about some of the most common native plants seen in urban rain gardens and will gain new gardening and maintenance tips. This event is a partnership between Ramsey County Master Gardeners and Capitol Region Watershed District Water Stewards. There will be time for questions and discussion following the presentation.
Presentations will cover:
- • Common native plants that do well in rain gardens.
- • Plants desired light conditions (sunny or shady).
- • Plants that do best in different parts of the rain garden.
- • Plant and weed identification tips including how to ID at different times of the growing season.

Tiffa is a certified Ramsey County Master Gardener and Minnesota Water Steward with Capitol Region Watershed District.
Simba is a Ramsey County Master Gardener and recently retired from a career of over 20 years at Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District working on their Natural Resources team.
